Eagerly awaiting the arrival of our son

We're in the final count down.

Less than four weeks left and at our last appointment (last Friday) the doctor said things were beginning to progress. That doesn't really mean anything this early- we could be at this stage for a month or more, especially given that 80% of first time moms are late and my mom was always late with her pregnancies, a fairly reliable predictor of what my pregnancy experience will be like. Nevertheless, Micah is so excited.

It reminds me of Christmas. Every year he waits until Christmas Eve to buy my gift because if he buys it any earlier he can't stand it and he'll either give it to me or tell me what it is so he has to wait until the last minute and then all while it's in his possession he says things like "I can't wait to give you your gift, do you want it now?" and paces around with a giant Cheshire Cat smile. Well now he's pacing around, putting the baby swing and other equipment together, asking me every five minutes if I feel any differently and telling me things like "Why don't you go get on the treadmill and see if you can coax him out?"

Seriously.

It's pretty cute to see him so excited. I keep reminding him that once he's here he's here for good and we can't send him back. We're trying to enjoy this last few weeks of time to ourselves but we are so thrilled to meet this little guy.

We'll keep you posted....

We are also so excited to meet your little one! And thrilled for you both to become parents- one of the most exciting thing God offers us in this world!

sleep as much as you can- because once that little guy is here, it will be years before sleep will be the same...oooh and go out to dinner or breakfast lots too- just the 2 of you...that becomes more difficult too. misty's right- being a parent (mom!) is one of the best things!

micah is so stinkin funny.
